Dumplings

“I learnt how to fold dumplings when travelling China and its stayed with me ever since”

I absolutely love dumplings and can have them any time of the day with any meal. So I thought I’d make some. Now, to reduce the ingredients I bought my dumpling wrappers from my local Asian store, but you can make your own really easily.

Ingredients
Half a block of firm tofu
1 carrot
3 spring onions
2 tbsp Teriyaki sauce
Dumpling wrappers
Cream cheese
Oil for frying
Sriracha to top

Methods:
1. Start by blitzing together the firm tofu, carrot and spring onions together until fine.
2. Fry them off in some oil for 5 mins and then add in the teriyaki sauce and fry for a few more minutes, season and let cool.
3. Once cooled, add the cream cheese and mix well.
4. Get your dumpling wrappers, add some of the mixture to the middle and then wet the top of the wrapper, fold into a taco shape, pinch the middle, then pinch and fold round your finger along the top of the dumpling.
5. Add some oil to a pan and fry the dumpling for a few minutes on a high temp until crispy on the bottom. Add some teriyaki and water to the pan and cover with a lid. Cook for a further few minutes until steamed.
6. Now serve with more cream cheese, spring onions and sriracha and enjoy!
