KFC Mushies

"This is something that you just can’t get eating plant based. But I’ve solved that issue."

The options at KFC are limited and the ones we do have are really not that good at all. But no worries because it’s super easy to do at home yourself.

Ingredients
1 punnet of oyster mushroom clusters
Frying oil
Salt
For the wet batter :
Half a cup corn flour
Half a cup plain flour
2 tbsp spice blend (I used Old Bay seasoning, oregano, smoked paprika, onion powder, lots of pepper, salt)
3/4 cup plant milk
For the dry batter:
Half a cup corn flour
Half a cup plain flour
2 tbsp spice blend (I used Old Bay Seasoning , oregano, smoked paprika, onion powder, lots of pepper, salt)
1 tbsp plant milk

Method:
1. Start by mixing together the wet ingredients and dry ingredients in separate bowls.
2. Coat the oyster mushrooms in the wet batter then the dry batter until fully coated.
3. Heat up some frying oil until at frying temp and carefully fry your your mushrooms until golden and crispy.
4. Set aside on a drying rack and season with salt and enjoy!
